HP judge suspended over allegations of harassment


Shimla: A civil judge cum Chief Judicial Magistrate of Himachal Pradesh has been suspended by Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court following complaint by a woman colleague in which she had alleged that she was harassed by the judge during a conference in Manali from June 11 to 13.

According to sources, Chief Justice Mansoor Ahmed Mir has ordered a full enquiry into the matter within two months. The Manali conference was attended by judges of Supreme Court, high court and other courts and was inaugurated by by Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh.

The incident took place on June 8 as the judges were asked to arrive at Manali in advance.
