Home Ministry terminates IPS Sanjeev Bhat’s services

Ahmedabad: Sanjeev Bhat, Gujarat IPS officer who earlier accused the Gujarat Government and the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of destroying records related to the post Godhra riots was sacked from his service on Wednesday  on the grounds of ‘unauthorised absence’.

Bhatt said, “Yes, it is true that my services have been terminated. This was expected. They have been conducting a completely ex-parte inquiry. I got the letter from the Home Ministry.”

The suspended IPS officer even took to micro-blogging site Twitter to admit that he has been removed from the top post after serving 27 years in the Indian Police Service.
