High Court clerks to go on 24 hour strike


Kolkata: Alleging non-cooperation on the part of administration, the law clerks of Calcutta High Court has called for a 24 hour strike. The normal working procedures of the Calcutta High Court may be hampered due to the strike on Thursday.

According to the administration, nearly 2000 clerks work at the High Court. They mainly work as assistants to the lawyers. They have alleged that confusion is being created over the filing of cases due to which they are falling into trouble. The law clerks have alleged that although the issue has been brought to the notice of the High court administration nothing has been done to solve their problem.
