Chandigarh: Following intelligence inputs of a possible aerial attack, security has been tightened in and around Pathankot Air Force station. As per the sources, the authorities have gone into an overdrive warning residents of ‘aerial offensive’ after NSA sent alerts claiming that Lashkar-e-Taiba chief Hafiz Saeed may be planning attacks.
Since January 2 terror attack, the Pathankot airbase has been declared a sensitive zone which claimed the lives of four militants and seven security personnel. The authorities have distributed posters asking locals to be cautious of such aerial vehicles and have also mentioned official’s phone numbers to whom they can contact if in case the residents spotted any such ‘aerial threat’.
Pathankot SSP Rakesh Kaushal ensured that following the intelligence reports, the security in and around the city had been tightened. The places like villages located near the international border have been given the major police force.
