Heritage Status For Lyricist Pulak Bandyopadhyay’s House


Howrah: The state government has decided to make arrangements for giving heritage
status to Bengali Indian lyricist and song writer of Bengali cinema, Pulak
Bandyopadhyay. While attending to the press at a memorial meet of the legendary
lyricist at Howra, minister Arup Roy made the announcement.

The minister said, “We all want that the house of deceased lyricist Pulak
Bandyopadhyay be declared as a heritage. We can wish for the heritage status of
such a reputable person. While Pulak babu was alive, from Mahanayak Uttam Kumar to
singer Manna Dey, all have visited him.

Arup Roy informed that if his successor applied for this, then the state government
will appeal to the heritage commission. He said, “On this, will talk to his eldest
