New Delhi: MS Dhoni, India’s double World Cup-winning cricket skipper and multiple billiards world champion, Pankaj Advani, were chosen for the Padma Bhushan, India’s third highest civilian award, on the eve of the country’s Republic Day on Thursday.
Dhoni, who has also been awarded the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna and the Arjuna awards, is India’s most successful captain, who now plays only in the limited-overs formats.
Advani, 32, has ruled world billiards for several years. The Bangalore-based cueist has won 18 world titles.
