Kolkata: Due to heavy rain and storm, train services had to be suspended on Sealdah-Gede and Sealdah-Shantipur sections of Eastern Railway’s Sealdah Division since 6.05 pm on Tuesday.
On the Up line of Ranaghat-Gede section, OHE parted at Aranghata at 6.05pm, while the overhead wire was found hanging at Bogula on the same section at 6.05 pm. On the Ranaghat-Shantipur section, tree branches fell on the railway track affecting movements of train at Phulia at 6.10pm.
However, on the Ranaghata-Krishnanagar section train services have been maintained. On the other sections of Sealdah Division, train services are maintained though the trains may be slightly delayed due to safety stipulations.
