Kolkata: There will be heavy to very heavy rainfall in the five districts of the North Bengal in the next 24 hours due to presence of monsoon Axis, predicts the Regional Meteorological Office in Alipore. However, there will be normal rain in the districts of South Bengal.
There will be a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in Sikkim including Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Kalimpong, Alipurduar, Coochbehar. Now monsoon axis has passed over North Bengal. The meterogical Office has issued warnings to the hill districts in the next five days. It will be 70 to 120 millimeters of rain per day.
Earlier, MET office Kolkata in latest update forecasted light to moderate rain in Kolkata and the surrounding areas. A concentrated depression prevailing over Bay of Bengal which caused rain in most parts of South Bengal. Previously the Alipore met office said that depression will form over North Bay of Bengal which will affect districts of gangetic Bengal.
