Heavy Rain To Lash In South Bengal, Mercury Drops


Kolkata: Alipore Met office said that the next 48 hours, rainfall activity is expected to occur over few parts of Gangetic West Bengal. Meanwhile, raining is expected to increase over the costal stations such as South 24 Parganas and Midnapore.

The beginning of the week started with rain. The cyclone on the Bay of Bengal will become depressive in the next 24 hours. However, the whirlwind will become the root cause of the rain, the weather experts say.

Meteorologists say that cyclone is currently on the mid-west bay of bengal. It extends up to 2.1 km from the sea level. In the next 24 hours, a depression will be created in the mid-west bay and north-west bay of bengal. It may rain on Tuesday and Wednesday in Howrah, Hooghly, North and South 24 Parganas and East and West Midnapore. There is a possibility of heavy rain in Midnapore and 24 Parganas. Alerts have been issued only in coastal districts.

Kolkata’s highest temperature was 26.9 degree Celsius, which is less than 4 degrees Celsius from minimum. the minimum temperature is 23.4 degrees Celsius, which is one degree more than usual. The maximum amount of vapor in the air is 88 percent, the lowest 69 percent.
