Heavy Downpour In Kolkata, Dist To Get Thundersquall In An Hour


Kolkata: The Met Office Kolkata indicates that thunderstorm with lightning and light to moderate rain very likely to affect some parts of Purulia, Bankura, East Burdwan, Purba and Paschim Medinipur, Jhargram,Kolkata, North and South 24 Parganas ,Nadia , Howrah and Hooghly districts of Gangetic West Bengal during next 2-3 hours.

Heavy to very heavy rain from 7mm to 20 mm very likely to occur at isolated places over Sikkim & Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Coochbehar, Kalimpong, Alipurduar districts of Sub Himalayan West Bengal. Heavy rain from 7mm to 11 cm likely to occur at isolated places over Malda, North & South Dinajpur districts of Sub Himalayan West Bengal.

The southwest monsoon has further advanced into entire parts of North & South 24 Parganas, East Midnapore and some parts of West Midnapore, Howrah, Hooghly,Nadia, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, Darjeeling, Kalimpong districts and most parts of Sikkim on Tuesday.

The eastern part of Northern Limit of  Monsoon  (NLM) passes through Titlagarh, Cuttack, Midnapore.
