Heat Wave To Persist In Bengal For Next Three Days

Kolkata: The rising temperature and delay in monsoon have left people across the country reeling under the scorching heat-so much so that people have even resorted to spiritual routes in the hope of appeasing the mighty rain gods.

After a temporary relief in past few days, the scorching heat and humid winds will cover Kolkata and West Bengal for next three days.

The Regional Weather office, Kolkata forecasted heat wave in six districts of Bengal. Kolkata, North and South 24 pargana, East Midnapore, Howrah, Hooghly, Nadia, East Bardhaman and Murshidabad will face 2-3 degree higher temperature in next three days. The Western part districts of West Bengal like Purulia, Birbhum, West Midnapore and Jhargram will pass through heat wave till Wednesday.

A cyclonic circulation is lying over Northwest Bay of Bengal and its adjoining areas of Gangetic West Bengal. Warm and humid winds are prevailing over the northeastern states. Therefore, light to moderate rain & thundershowers will affect Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & northeast states.
