Heat wave kills Cab drivers in City


Kolkata: A couple of people died of the ongoing heat wave that prevailed in the city for the last few days. Both of them were taxi drivers. One of them had died at Jadavpur and the other one expired at Richie Road. Playing it safe, the Taxi Unions have decided not to run the taxis from 11 am to 4 pm for the next few days. The city dwellers will surely face problem due to this decision by the Union

Sriniketan in Birbhum district recorded 44.2 deg C, Bankura recorded 43.1 deg C, Asansol 42.8, Baharampur 42.2, Purulia 42, Burdwan 41 and Maldah’s maximum temperature stood at 40.1 degree C.
