Heat Wave Hits Hard The City Of Joy

Kolkata: After bearing a record-breaking maximum temperature yesterday at 40.6 degree Celsius, Kolkata on Tuesday is faced with yet another heat wave, as warned by the Regional Meteorological Centre at Alipore.

Reports say that yesterday’s temperature broke records for the hottest day in two years for Kolkata. Unfortunately, today brings no respite for the city either.

Met department has forecast a maximum temperature of 40 degree Celsius during daytime for the city, something the city-dwellers will not be glad to learn about.

The humidity in the air in Kolkata makes the heat feel worse than it is. This is why, as AccuWeather points out, the 40 degree Celsius feels like 48.
