Serampore: In a major incident on Saturday, a loco engine hit a local train at the Serampore railway station. An investigation has been ordered by the Railways.

The reason for the accident is yet to bee known. The locals believe that this accident could have been more bigger. 12 people including the driver are stated to be injured in the incident.

The incident took place at platform number 2 while entering the station. The local
train hit the loco engine while maintenance works were underway in the railway
tracks. Chaos has already erupted in the area as a result.

West Bengal: Howrah-Sheoraphuli local train while approaching Shrirampur station hit an inspection car at 1624 hrs. As a result, rail movement via Down Main and Reversible Line of Howrah- Bandel section affected. Restoration work underway.
