HC Will Not Interfere In Mamata Govt’s Puja Grants


Kolkata: The Acting Chief Justice Debashis Kar Gupta and Justice Shampa Sarkar’s division bench has directed that the Calcutta High Court will not interfere in the case related to the state governments bounty plan for Durga puja. The Calcutta High Court gave this verdict on Wednesday.

The state government will also oversee whether the funds are properly utilised, the Chief Justice division bench has mentioned this in it’s directive. Thus, the division bench of the Chief Justice has settled the PIL issue today.

The Chief Justice Debasis Kar Gupta has also directed the state government to keep an eye on the Club and Puja Committees so that the grants are not misused.
