HC Adjourns Salman’s Appeal against Hit and Run Conviction


Mumbai: he Bombay High Court on Monday adjourned hearing on Salman Khan’s plea against conviction in the 2002 hit and run case to July 1. The Bombay High Court adjourned the hearing as Salman Khan’s lawyers are in the process of preparing case papers. On May 8, the Bombay High Court while admitting Salman Khan’s appeal against his conviction posted the matter for June 15. Now the hearing will begin on July 1.

In a major relief to Salman Khan, the Bombay High Court, on May 8, had suspended his 5-year sentence in the 2002 hit-and-run case, pronounced by a sessions court on May 6. In arms case, following a stay by the Rajasthan High Court, Salman Khan’s trial under the Arms Act will resume on July 20. Meanwhile, the High Court would hear Salman’s criminal miscellaneous petition on July 8. Salman Khan seems to have a long legal battle ahead.
