Haryana Now Has a Nodal Officer To Protect Gau Mata

Chandigarh: Bharti Arora is returning to Gurgaon as supervising officer against cow slaughter and cattle smuggling, eight months after she was transferred following a bitter, public spat with police commissioner Navdeep Singh Virk.

Arora, a joint commissioner when she departed last October, was on Tuesday appointed supervising officer of teams formed in all districts of Haryana to check cow slaughter and smuggling. She will be stationed in Bhondsi, where the headquarters for this new police vertical has been set up. Under her watch will be a 300 strong team, among them 60 non-gazetted government officers and 220 policemen.
