Gurung Is Still Out Of Reach


Kolkata: Gurung Is still out of reach. In a video message on Wednesday, GJM leader Bimal Gurung stated that the news of his arrest is totally false. Gurung dismissed his arrest news in this video clip and said that he is very safe and well in his hideout.

On Tuesday, it is stated that the CID team of Kolkata police had been caught the GJM supremo Bimal gurung in Nepal, distanced by the six hundred kms from Kathmandu. The STF and CID team did not confirm the news till tuesday night. Gurung continued that the “news is totally lie, I am safe and secure in my hideout.”

Earlier, the Supreme Court dismissed Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) leader Bimal Gurung’s petitions seeking protection from arrest in connection with several cases against him by the state police and also seeking an independent probe into the alleged killings of ‘Gorkhaland’ supporters.

The police had earlier claimed that Gurung and some of his aides were absconding after being booked under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act in connection with the violence in Darjeeling hills during the recent agitation for a separate Gorkhaland.
Gurung has approached the apex court seeking an independent probe into the alleged killings of Gorkhaland supporters during the protests.
