New Delhi: Ravindra Jadeja’s marriage on Sunday ran into controversy after gunshots were fired just a few feet away from the bridegroom during the marriage procession.
The incident was followed by police arriving at the site to launch an inquiry.
“We got the message from our control room. We are checking the footage. Even if shots are fired from a licensed weapon, it can be done only in self-defence. The offence, if proved, can lead to a jail sentence of 3 years,” Mahendra Singh Rana, PSI of the Lodhika Police Station, told media.
Earlier, footage of Jadeja showcasing his sword skills during the Sangeet Ceremony also went viral on social media.
Jadeja is all set to tie the nuptial knot with his fiancee Reeva Solanki on Sunday.
According to reports, allrounder’s close friends MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Dwayne Bravo and some other Indian players will arrive in Rajkot on Sunday to attend the reception.
Jadeja and Reeva got engaged in the first week of February earlier this year.
