Gujarat, Karnataka Lift Ban on Maggi

New Delhi: In a major reprieve to Nestle, Gujarat and Karnataka lifted the ban imposed on sale of Maggi in the state on Monday.

Some 90 samples of the 6 variants of Maggi had received clearance by the three labs mandated by the Bombay High Court, subsequent to which the court had lifted the ban on Maggi.

Monday morning, the front page of the leading newspapers featured a full page advertisement from Nestle India announcing that Maggie will be back soon.

The advertisement reassured on the safety of Maggie and also posted results of the major tests conducted on the samples on the website.

The instant noodles brand was banned by FSSAI over the presence of excess lead in June.

Nestle India, bore a loss of  around Rs 450 crore, including destroying over 30,000 tonnes of the instant noodles since the ban.
