Howrah: Today, that is 18th June is International Father’s Day. All over the country kids are celebrating the day with their father to make them feel special. The day has been also celebrated in different parts of Kolkata. The members of Kalyanpalli Youth Club of Howrah’s Balai Mistri Lane celebrate the International Father’s Day in a different manner in this year.
The club members has paid tribute to those fathers who may not have a child to call them ‘father’ or someone to take proper care of them. They are homeless, don not have proper shelter to stay not enough food to fill the stomach. The youths of Kalyanpalli Youth Club with their great initiative distributed new attire, good food to all those fathers who lives in the premises of railway stations, road-sides on the father’s day. The club members also honored the homeless mothers and those who live in the old age home on the International Mother’s Day.
Father’s Day is a celebration honoring fathers and celebrating fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in the society. It was inaugurated in the early 20th century to complement Mother’s Day by celebrating fathers and male parenting. Father’s Day is not celebrated in all over the India. It is usually celebrated only in the bigger cities of India like Chennai, Mumbai, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Hyderabad.
