Kolkata: According to the state secretariat (Nabanna), the state government has
decided to send officers of the finance department abroad for training.

30 officers will be sent to the Oxford University for training in this month. The
state has already held talks with the Oxford University for the matter.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee left for Delhi on Monday. On returning, she is
expected to take a decision on this issue.

Since the TMC government came to power in 2011, it has been accusing the CPM party
for taking huge loans in its 34-year-long tenure. The CM also appealed to the
Centre to waive the loans, but in vain, as alleged.

Not only that, the CM also gave instructions to reduce expenditure as the loans
have increased. Expenditure on several governmental programmes to the spendings on
governmental officers, were asked to be reduced by the CM.

In an attempt to find ways to repay loans, the CM has been working with skilled
officers. To increase the skills, Mamata has decided to send them abroad for
special training.
