New Delhi: Adding yet another feather in the ‘Digital India’ cap, the Narendra Modi government is all set to launch a new application – UMANG.
UMANG stands for Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance. UMANG app is a government project which is expected to bring all government’s services onto one platform.
According to a reports, this mobile application will eventually bring some 200 central, state and local government services onto a single platform. The UMANG project was conceptualised to tap into India’s smartphone boom.
The app will help you in a number of services including passport services, income tax filing, railway ticket bookings, keeping land records, among other key services.
The project is being developed by the union ministry of communications and information technology’s national e-governance division (NeGD),
The Narendra Modi government aims to make the app available to anyone using a smartphone and internet.
