Govt Plans For Interns To Solve School Teacher Crisis


Kolkata: Problems relation to school teachers have become frequent in the recent times. To solve the problem, the college and university passed students might be recruited in the schools as intern teachers. However, the entire thing is still under planning, as informed by chief minister Mamata Banerjee at Nabanna.

To teach at the higher secondary level, the interns will be given Rs. 2,000 and those teaching in class 10 and 12 will get Rs. 2,500. They will be recruited for 2 years. The CM said that they will profit out of this in future while getting jobs.

The CM also instructed to follow the model of St. Xaviers to improve and development of the universities of several districts. The CM held meeting with professors of different college, the VCs of different universities at Nabanna. Here itself, a committee was set up where the education minister and higher education secretary. Apart from them, the VCs of Calcutta and Presidency University have been included too.

This committee will determine how can the renowned city universities can help the district universities. The CM said that universities such as CU, PU will prepare the syllabus of the district universities, the construction of research and how will the university proceed.
