Govt to seek ‘red corner notice’ against Lalit Modi

New Delhi: The NDA government will be requesting Interpol to issue a red corner notice against former IPL chief Lalit Modi. The decision was taken on Friday at a meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. Later Jaitley also met Bharatiya Janata Party President Amit Shah.

The government also decided to continue backing Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje despite mounting pressure from the opposition parties who are demanding her resignation on the Lalit Modi issue.

In the meeting it was discussed on how the blue corner notice against Lalit Modi will be converted to a red corner notice. “If a red corner notice is issued, Lalit Modi can be detained in any country.”
