Kolkata: Wildlife Institute of India (WII) is inviting application from the eligible candidates for 15 posts of Project Fellow (Ecology), Project Assistant Grade- 2 (Ecology/ Sociology), Project Assistant (Genetics/ GIS Component), Research Biologist, Project Biologist and Senior Biologist. The candidates will be appointed on Contractual basis initially for a period of Six months/ One year, which can be extended depending on the performance of the candidates and the project requirement.

I. FOR SPECIES CONSERVATION PROGRAM “DEVELOPMENT OF CONSERVATION ACTION PLAN FOR RIVER DOLPHINS”.

1. PROJECT FELLOW- ECOLOGY
No. of Vacancies: 02 Nos.
Educational Qualification: M.Sc. in Biological Sciences/ Wildlife/ Fisheries/ Forestry/ Environment/ Botany/ Zoology/ Geoinformatics/ Biodiversity Conservation.
Desirable: i) Aptitude for field work.
ii) Experience of working on in aquatic ecosystem.
Age Limit: Maximum 35 years.
Consolidated Pay: Rs.28,000/- per month.

2. PROJECT ASSISTANT GRADE- 2 (ECOLOGY/ SOCIOLOGY)
No. of Vacancies: 04 Nos.
Educational Qualification: M.Sc. in Biological Sciences/ Sociology/ Zoology/ Botany/ Forestry/ Life Sciences/ Social Sciences/ Economics.
Desirable: i) Aptitude for field work.
ii) Experience of working on in aquatic ecosystem.
OR
Experience of sociology work with a community or a tribe.
Age Limit: Maximum 30 years.
Consolidated Pay: Rs.20,000/- per month.

3. PROJECT ASSISTANT GENETICS
No. of Vacancies: 01 Nos.
Educational Qualification: M.Sc. in Biological Science/ Genetics/ Biotechnology, Life Science.
Desirable: Experience in molecular biology.
Age Limit: Maximum 30 years.
Consolidated Pay: Rs.20,000/- per month.

II. PROJECT TITLE: ALL INDIA ASSESSMENT OF STATUS OF TIGERS, CO-PREDATORS AND PREY AND THEIR HABITATS.

4. RESEARCH BIOLOGIST
No. of Vacancies: 05 Nos.
Educational Qualification: B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Wildlife Science/ Botany/ Zoology/ Forestry/ Life Sciences/ Environmental Sciences/ Environmental Management/ Agricultural Sciences/ Veterinary Sciences/ Biotechnology/ Genetics with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks from a recognized University.
Desirable: i) Candidates with prior experience in sampling design and animal abundance estimation will be preferred.
ii) Able to do field work in harsh condition.
Age Limit: Maximum 35 years for B.E./ B. Tech./M.Sc. and 28 years for B.Sc as on 20/12/2018.
Consolidated Pay: Rs.25,000/- (for B.E./B. Tech./M.Sc. candidates) & Rs.20,000/- (for B.Sc. candidates) per month.

III. PROJECT TITLE: MONITORING SYSTEM FOR TIGERS’ INTENSIVE PROTECTION AND ECOLOGICAL STATUS (MSTRIPES).

5. PROJECT BIOLOGIST
No. of Vacancies: 01 Nos.
Educational Qualification: Post graduate degree in Zoology/ Life Science/ Wildlife Science/ Botany/ Forestry/ Environmental Science with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks from a recognized University.
Desirable: i) Candidates having field experience in conducting ecological research and monitoring will be given preference.
ii) Experience in animal abundance estimation, analytical skills and competency in ecological software is desirable.
Age Limit: Maximum 35 years as on 20/12/2018.
Consolidated Pay: Rs.25,000/- per month.

6. PROJECT ASSISTANT (GIS COMPONENT)
No. of Vacancies: 01 Nos.
Educational Qualification: Post Graduate in Science/ Life Science/ Environmental Science/ Applied Science/ Remote Sensing and GIS/ M.A Geography.
OR
Post Graduate/ Diploma in Remote Sensing and GIS.
OR
B.Tech in Geo Informatics/ Environmental Engineering/ Remote Sensing and GIS with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks from a recognized University.
Desirable: Experience in Remote Sensing and GIS, competency in Arc GIS, ERDAS IMAGINE and other Open Source Software (Q GIS etc.) shall be given preference.
Age Limit: Maximum 35 years for B.E./ B. Tech./M.Sc. and 28 years for B.Sc as on 20/12/2018.
Consolidated Pay: Rs.20,000/- per month.
IV. PROJECT TITLE: TIGER CELL.

7. SENIOR BIOLOGIST
No. of Vacancies: 01 Nos.
Educational Qualification: M.Sc. in Wildlife Sciences/ Zoology/ Botany/ Life Sciences/ Forestry/ Environmental Science/ Veterinary Science with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in M.Sc. from a recognized University.
Experience: At least 02 years of research experience.
Desirable: i) Candidates with prior experience in animal abundance estimation techniques.
ii) Proficiency in using computers and good writing skill in English language.
iii) Publication record desirable.
Age Limit: Maximum 35 years as on 20/12/2018.
Consolidated Pay: Rs.40,000/- per month.

The candidates will be appointed on Contractual basis initially for a period of Six months/ One year, which can be extended depending on the performance of the candidates and the project requirement. The vacancies are for various projects and Tiger Cell. The duty station of candidates selected for the posts at Sl. No. 1 to 3 will be at field sites in Ganga and Brahmaputra, headquarters at Guwahati and Dehradun.

Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST/PWD and 03 years for OBC category.

Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be through Online Written Examination and Personal Interview. The written examination will be held on 29th December, 2018. The written examination will be conducted at the following centres namely Dehradun, Jaipur, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Guwahati, Lucknow, Bhopal and Delhi/ NCR. The Interview will be held at the Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun in the middle of January, 2019.

Application Fee: Candidates must pay Rs. 500/- (Rs. 100/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates) for the posts at Sl. No. 1 to 3 and Rs. 800/- (Rs. 100/- for SC/ST candidates) for the posts at Sl.
