Lucknow: ‘Nothing is impossible’ proving the motto true literally as well as metaphorically; a boy in Gonda has gone a step ahead and gifted a toilet, commonly being termed as ‘Rakhi Shauchalaya’ or ‘Rakhi Toilet’ to his sister on the occasion of Rakshabandhan. Taking the Swachch Bharat abhiyaan to a new frontier this little-big man from Gonda’s Rudragarh Nausi made the decision out of concern for his sister and to protect her.
As per news sources, one of a kind ‘Swachta Bandhan’ rallies are being organised all over the state of Uttar Pradesh in view of the Rakshabandhan festivities just round the corner. In these rallies the villagers have been participating proactively in maintaining cleanliness in and around their houses. Even with limited means of income these determined souls have also been setting up toilets — ‘Rakhi Shauchalaya’ or ‘Rakhi Toilet’; in their areas.
Exclusively in Gonda, the Swachhta Bandhan rallies have been running in 8 blocks of the districts and as per sources the district administration has announced that Swacha Ratna Award 2017 will be given to villagers who have the cleanest houses and toilets. Also, a one of a kind ‘Bhai No. 1’ contest has been running wherein brothers gifting toilets to their sisters will be honoured.
