Golden Lotus Award winning Director dies at 56


Guwahati: National award-winning Assamese director and actor Bidyut Chakraborty died here today following a prolonged illness, family sources said.He was 56 and is survived by his mother and wife.

Chakraborty received the Indira Gandhi Award (Golden Lotus Award for Best Film) in 1996 for his film ‘Raag Birag’ which was also the opening film of Indian Panorama at IFFI that year.
