Girl Force-Fed Poison On Way To School At Howrah


Howrah: Chaos sparked in Howrah’s Aamta after some youths allegedly force-fed
poison to a class 9 student on Monday.

The student’s father said that they are residents of Rathtala under Aamta police
station. He said that his daughter was cycling to her school Udang Girls’ High
School on Monday morning. The school is 2 km away from their house. So she took a
shortcut to cut short the distace. It is at this time, 7-8 youths stopped her way,
four of them held her. Another one, meanwhile, mixed some powder in a bottle and
force-fed her, as alleged.

The student somehow escaped and ran to her home. She fell unconscious after telling
the entire thing to her family. She was first ruhed to the Aamta block primary
hospital and then shifted to the Howrah district hospital when her condition turned
serious. The girl’s family has filed a complaint at the Aamta police station.

Civic volunteer of Amta police station said that the road through which the girl
went is a lonely street. Most students use this road to go to school. Everyday the
girl went through that road along with her friends. But on Monday she was
travelling alone. He claimed that some unknown youths tried teasing the girl.
According to him, the girl stated that the boys are unknown to him.

The local police have already started an investigation.
