Kolkata: No more ‘Chup Ke Chup Ke’, Ghazal Maestro Ghulam Ali sings in front of a large crowd at the Netaji Indoor Stadium on Tuesday. Thanking Mamata for calling him to do the concert, Controversial singer spreads the message of Tolerance ushering Vivekananda on his birthday along with Mamata Banerjee.
Speaking on the occasion Mamata Banerjee said, “talent has no country, talent has an address world wide”. Swami Vivekananda always spoke about tolerance, keeping that in mind we have arranged Ghulam Ali’s concert.
Ghulam Ali’s concert was cancelled in Mumbai by Shiv Sena, raising the heat of Intolerance across the country. The emotionally hurt singer had said that he is never to come to India to perform. Mamata was the only person to invite and allow Ghulam Ali at a concert in Kolkata. Though selecting the venue for concert had to deal with a few complications. The venue shifted from Park Circus Maidan to Eden Garden and further shifted to MohunBagan ground and later to Netaji Indoor Stadium.
According to Mamata, a lot of crowd couldn’t be seated at the stadium. The concert will happen again and Ghulam Ali has said to come again.
Ghazal Maestro’s Ghulam Ali’s historic Concert amid all controversies begins at Netaji Indoor Stadium at Kolkata. Raza Murad welcomes all audiences on stage by praising Chief minister Mamata Banerjee for making the concert happen. Also marking the birthday of swami Vivekananda, Ghulam Ali and Mamata pay homage to Swami Vivekananda by offering flowers. Mamata honours the guest present on the dias.
