New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation through his Mann Ki Baat programme on Sunday at 11 am.
He urged the students of the country to be curious and said they should not be scared of them and try for new things. Advising them to dream, the prime minister said youngsters should work hard to fulfill whatever they want to do in life. “If you don’t know how to swim, learn swimming, Try doing some painting, even if you do not end up making the best”, he added.
During his address, the prime minister gave a clarion call for EPI (Every person is Important) mantra in new India. “Our concept of New India is instead of VIP, more priority should be given to EPI”, he said.
Narendra Modi also spoke about the recent ban on beacons on most cars by the Centre and said, “In our country, there exists an atmosphere of disdain towards VIP culture. But that it runs very deep”. The prime further said that the Centre recently decided that no person in the country , irrespective of status, will not move with a red beacon atop his vehicle. He added that the decision is part of a system, but efforts should be made to clean minds of the people.
Congratulating, Gujarat and Maharashtra on their foundation day on May 1, the prime minister said, “1st may is the foundation day of Gujarat and Maharashtra. I congratulate them as they have contributed to the nation. Many leaders have come from these states.
The prime minister, while expressing his concern on weather said, also said that early onslaught of heat wave is a concerning sign. “Climate Change no more just a topic in the academic world but a reality we all experience everyday,” he added.
He also said he was glad to receive all kind of feedbacks from people across the country for his programme. expressing his gratitude, the PM said all analyses are welcomed by the government.
During his address, the prime minister also said that the country will launch South Asia satellites on May 5. Capacities of satellite and facilities provided by it will go long way in addressing the region’s economic & development priorities, he added.
This was the 31st episode of PM’s radio show which was also streamed on the YouTube channels of the Prime Minister Office, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and DD News. The programme will also be broadcast in regional languages immediately after the Hindi broadcast. Regional language versions of the programme will also be repeated at 8 p.m.
In the last episode, PM Modi remembered the sacrifice of martyrs Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru, and hailed Mahatma Gandhi’s first ‘Gandhian movement’, Champaran movement.
He also stated that it is because of these icons and founding fathers that we can now dream of the creation of a ‘new India’ courtesy the strength, versatility hard work of the people now that can lead to the building of their vision.
