Gaurav Gogoi To Visit Bengal To Boost Congress Before Lok Sabha


Kolkata: Newly selected All India Congress Committee in-charge Gaurab Gogoi is coming to West Bengal for two days visit in next week. According to source, he’ll be at Bidhan Bhavan on June 18, Monday and will halt in Kolkata for June 19. There will be a two days meeting with the state leadership.

gogoi has been given the responsibility of West Bengal and Andaman Nicobar Island on May 27, Sunday. He is in the congress core committee after Rahul took the charge of Congress president.

According to Bidhan Bhavan source, Gaurav Gogoi will hold a meeting with the MLAs, MP, Members and the district presidents and committee members in his two day visit. It is his first visit after taking charge of committee. Entire camp is eager to meet him.

The organisational structure and functional part can be discussed in the two days meeting. State Congress is depending on president to convey major points with him.
According to congress source, Gogoi wanted to know the detail of district and block organisation and will fix a guideline accordingly. The alliance understanding can come up as one of the fresh discussion material.

A congress leader said, “prioring to 2019 lok sabha  Gogoi can play the role of a catalyst as congress is not in a strong position in West Bengal.” His presence can rectify many flaws and can make a necessary change in organisational structure.
