Gas Leak In Kolkata Factory Sparks Panic

Update: As fresh reports are pouring in, 37 employees of the factory have suffered from the gas leak, some in critical condition. The victims have been rushed to hospital as police and NDMA and fire-brigade teams reached the spot. Efforts are on to plug the holes in the pipes and the area has been evacuated.

Kolkata: A gas leakage has been reported in Panchasayar area, a Kolkata suburb has sparked panic as 17 people have been taken ill.

As per reports, a faulty valve in a Food processing factory located near 206 Bus-stand in South 24 Parganas Panchasayar resulted in a ammonia leak and 17 people have been taken ill.

Panic spread in the area following the leak as the puncture is yet to be blocked. Authorities have been informed about the incident and proper step has been assured.
