Ganga Sagar Mela To Hit Under Tight Surveillance


Kolkata: Ganga Sagar Mela is all set to hit. The Bengal Government has taken all necessary steps to make it a success for everyone concerned, most of all, for the pilgrims.
The administration has also asked everyone to take certain precautionary measures specially for security measures and to keep the environmental pollution level under control.

52 CCTV cameras have been installed in Babughat area. Control room will take the entire situation under surveillance. Mamata Banerjee, herself warned that, there is a chance of unknown attack during Mela. So, the administration is on the toe to provide a necessary protection. Watch Towers are active for a widened surveillance.

Special measures have been taken for the prevention of environmental pollution at the Gangasagar Mela. For the devotees, arrangements of food and lodging have already been made in Babughat and Gangasagar premises. More than one thousand toilets have been created. There is also adequate drinking water and bath water.

Many small shops in front of Eden garden in Babughat are offering large polythene in 10 rupees and blanket in 300 rupees. People all across state and country will be travelling for the holy visit. The government office located in Babughat has confirmed that around 300 buses have left for Ganga Sagar since Friday morning. There are about 125 buses standing in the adjacent grounds next to Eden Garden. Most pilgrims will reach the spot on Saturday Night.
