Moscow: The President of Russia, Mr. Vladimir Putin gifted a page from the diary of Mahatma Gandhi and a Indian sword from Bengal province to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his visit to Kremlin for a tete-e-tete at Moscow, on Wednesday evening.
President Putin presented to the Prime Minister a page from the diary of Mahatma Gandhi. The page contains Gandhiji’s handwritten notes.
President Putin also gifted to the Prime Minister, a late-eighteenth century Indian sword from Bengal province. The sword features intricate silver artwork.
Modi and Putin will hold 16th India-Russia annual summit talks on Thursday at the Kremlin following which the two sides are expected to sign a number of pacts to expand cooperation in a number of key areas including defence, nuclear energy, hydrocarbons and trade.
