Pune: Intensifying their demand for the removal of Gajendra Chauhan as the FTII’s chairman, the agitating students on Sunday left for Delhi to organize a protest on Monday.
Nearly 80 agitating students left for the national capital over their 52 day demand of the removal of Gajendra Chauhan as the Chairman.
The students have been on protest since June 12 demanding his removal saying that he lacked the stature to head the premier film institute. Chauhan has refused to step down saying that he is well-equipped for the job and will step down if the central government which has appointed him tells him to do so.
The Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has made it clear that no further talks with the students will be held unless they withdraw their strike and returned to academics.
