Kolkata: Ruing his current fate Saradha scam accused Trinamool leader and former West Bengal transport minister Madan Mitra on Thursday said, ” I was ‘Pravavshali, then i become Bahubali and now i am Bajrangbali.”
A saffron clad Madan made the statement at Alipore court. He was remanded to jail custody till January 28 in connection to a case pertaining to he multi-crore saradha scam.
When asked about his ‘Gerua’ attire Madan said that his dress symbolizes his nationalist sentiments and patriotism. He also said that he has embraced spiritualism and reads ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ regularly.
The sudden patriotism in Madan Mitra is also coupled with a saintly posture as the minister said that he has completely separated himself from all earthly matters, while accusing vendetta.
“I have left everything, but they are not leaving me.” said Madan over his jail custody pointing finger at CBI. He had earlier accused the agency of targeting him.
Answering media queries that whether he will fight the upcoming Assembly;u polls, the minister said that the decision is on the party command and he will act accordingly.
Earlier the day CBI has served a notice to Contai Municipality chairman Saumendu Adhikary for his alleged role in the Saradha scam. Soumendu is the brother of influential TMC leader Subhendu Adhikary, MP from Tamluk. Madan kept mum when asked about the development.
