Colombo: Another explosion reported in Dehiwala near Colombo after 6 blasts killed at least 160 in Sri Lanka.
Six near simultaneous explosions rocked three churches and three hotels frequented by tourists in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday morning, killing at least 160 people and injuring around 400 others, in one of the deadliest blasts in the island nation’s history.
While three high-end hotels and one church were targeted in the capital Colombo, two other churches were attacked in Negombo and Batticaloa. Thirty five foreigners are among those who died in the blasts for which no group has claimed responsibility so far.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter to condemn the attacks, saying there is “no place for such barbarism in our region” and “India stands in solidarity with the people of Sri Lanka.”
