Freight Traffic Movement Banned In Four Kolkata Bridges

Kolkata: The Kolkata Police have banned freight traffic movement in four bridges of Kolkata namely Arabindo Setu, Belgachia bridge, Tollugunge bridge and Bijan Setu.

Addressing a press conference at the state secretariat, police commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that all those 20-wheeler trucks which are stuck at the city’s several road, the police will take the initiative to bring them out. The police will also see that the Kolkata Port’s work is not hampered in the way.

Taking into consideration the present situation, the freight traffic movement has
been banned. The movement of small goods vehicles have been stopped too. These
vehicles will not be allowed to board the bridge.
