Four Netaji Gates To Be Build To Mark Great Escape

Kolkata: The Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) has decided to lead from the front when it comes to paying a fitting tribute to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. The civic body is all set to build four special gates to commemorate 75 years of Netaji’s great escape from his Elgin Road residence. This apart, the authorities have decided to rename Elgin Road as Mahanishkraman Path to keep alive memories of the historic event.

The decision was taken by chief minister Mamata Banerjee and mayor Sovan Chatterjee at a function at Netaji Bhawan last week.
