Four Maoists surrender before police in Odisha


Malkangiri: Four Maoists surrendered in Malkangiri district of Odisha on Friday including three women. The four Maoists were involved in a number of a attacks on the security forces including exchange of fire with the security forces in the last two years.

According to Police, the four armed Maoist cadres were identified as Sunita Wanjami (23), Kosi Kuunjami (21), Aite Kunjami (22) and Ganga Kartami (22). The woman Maoists who were arrested were also the members of ‘Gananatya Sangha’ in Padia dalam of the Malkangiri division of the Maoists.

The surrendered Maoists said they realized that the Naxals were exploiting and harassing the tribals so they decided to give up arms and return to social mainstream.
