Shimla: The interstate flesh trade racket which was busted by Himachal Pradesh police and 31 persons including eight women were arrested who were charged under sections 5, 6, 7 of the prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act 1956.
They were produced before a local court on Monday which remanded four persons to three days of Police custody whereas the remaining twenty seven persons have been sent to seven days of Judicial custody. The police team led by Additional SP Bhajan Negi acted on a tip off and raided a hotel at Shoghi and found the men and women lodged in eight rooms.
He said, “We raided the hotel on a tip off and found men and women in objectionable postures in the rooms booked by the group and arrested 31 persons, including eight women, three coordinators and owner of the hotel.”
The men arrested were from rajasthan while the women hailed from Ludhiana in Punjab. Police said that they are progressing with the investigations and more revealations are likely to come out.
