Malda: Former women deputy chief of Congress party was beaten allegedly by BJP goons for protesting against bad comments. However, the BJP leadership has rejected all such allegations and said that the party has no relation with the incident. The incident took place at Malda’s Manickchowk police station area’s Mathurapur Gram Panchayat’s Kakrebadha village.
According to locals, the former women deputy chief also contested from the Congress party from the Kakribadha booth. She got involved in quarrels with BJP workers several times during voting. She then lost the elections. It has been accused that after this, bad comments were aimed at her frequently.
On Monday night, BJP worker Ful Kumar Mondal with his men, made bad comments and abused her by standing in front of her house. She strongly protested this immediately. After this, they allegedly beat her. Later on, the locals rescued her and admitted her to a local hospital.
A complaint of molestation and beating was filed against five workers including BJP worker Ful Kumar Mondal at the Manickchowk police station. The accused are absconding since the incident.
BJP district general secretary Santosh Monday said, “BJP has no relation with this incident. The BJP foothold has become strong here and there is nothing called Congress. The people will answer in the Lok Sabha votes.”
Congress’ general secretary Kalisadhan Roy said, “BJP has started terror after winning in 1 or 2 panchayat. The people will not take this incident lightly. The people will only answer this.”
