Former U’khand Minister Harak Singh Rawat Accused Of Rape

New Delhi: A woman has filed a rape case against expelled Congress MLA Harak Singh Rawat on Friday night

On the basis of her complaint, an FIR has been registered at Safdarjung Police station in New Delhi.

The police have stated that the victim had previously given a similar complaint against Rawat in 2003 to the Dehradun police.

Harak Singh Rawat was among the Congress leaders who had rebelled against Harish Rawat’s government in Uttarakhand. He was a minister in the Vijay Bahuguna government, which was struck down by the Supreme Court. He was suspended from Congress in May 2016.

This is not the first time Rawat has faced a complaint of this nature. In 2014, he was booked for allegedly molesting a 30-year-old woman, also in Delhi. While the incident happened in September 2013, he was charged only the next year.
