Flu hits tourism in Maharastra & Rajasthan


Mumbai: The raging Swine Flu had already extracted a heavy toll on human life, now it is ravaging the tourism industry of Maharashtra and Rajasthan. As per reports, tourism industry in both the states has suffered a loss of 5,500 Crore, as tourists are avoiding the places fearing swine flu.

Maharashtra suffered eight more deaths on Saturday taking the toll to a total of 51. Among the worst-affected cities Pune recorded 145 cases followed by Nagpur which recorded 117 cases. Swine Flu cases are continuously on a rise, although the government has initiated stringent measures to contain the deadly disease. Mumbai alone has recorded 90 cases so far.

Rajasthan has also witnessed the death of 117 people so far, the worst hit areas are Jaipur, Ajmer, Barmer, Bikaner, and Udaipur.
