Kolkata: To tackle the rapidly degrading flood situation in the state, key officials met at Nabanna to take sdtock of the situation and to chalk out a plan to tackle the flood situation, which has griped a vast swathe of West Bengal due to continuous downpour.
The meeting convened on Sunday was attended by Chief Secretary, DG of West Bengal police and ley officials of the disaster management agency. The officials through video conferencing addressed the Deputy Commissioners of the affected districts in South Bengal districts.
The DC’s have been directed to monitor the situation personally and copordinate with the relief process. The worst hit districts are Burdwan, Hooghly, 34 Parganas.
West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee had cut short her London tour and returned to the state to monitor the worsening flood situation.
