Dominica:  West Indies cricketer Andre Fletcher has been reportedly arrested at the Douglas Charles airport in Dominica. Dominica News Online (DNO) reported that Fletcher was carrying ammunition (50 rounds) with him. He will now be produced at a court on Friday.

He is a part of the Windward Islands team and had been practicing in Dominica with his teammates. He was arrested when he was leaving the country. The Windward Islands manager, Lockhart Sebastian revealed that he was aware of the arrest and also pledged his support for the player. “I will support him, I will not abandon him … that is the job of a manager,” he said.

Fletcher’s previous appearance for the West Indies was in a T20 international against South Africa in January. After making his ODI and T20 debuts against Australia in 2008, he has represented the windies in 15 ODIs and 22 T20s so far.
