Five Injured Over Separate Attacks In Malda

Englishbazaar: Five people including a school student got injured as unidentified goons fired shots near 3 police stations on Sunday in Malda.

The first incident took place at Malda’s Kaliachowk police station’s old 16 mile area on Sunday. As per police sources, clashes broke out between two parties over land acquisition. Due to the clash, a class 10 student, Seraj Dulla Sekh was seriously injured. He has been admitted to the Malda Medical College and Hospital.

The second incident took place on Saturday late night at Dom Hat area near Manikchowk police station in Malda. A police officer’s son and a TMC worker got injured due to their internal quarrel in their village. They are Biswajit Malakar and Mantu Ghosh. As per police sources, both Biswajit and Mantu sat in their houses over some work. They are both friends too. Suddenly Mithu Mandal and some of his aides shot fires at Biswajit and Mantu. Both of them were seriously injured and got admitted to the Malda Medical College and Hospital. The accused are absconding after the incident. The police officers of the Manikchowk Police station have started an investigation to nab the culprits.

In the third incident, which took place on Saturday late night, occurred at Saktari area in malda’s Englishbazaar. A businessman and another person were injured with sharp weapons. As per police, Mithu Sarkar and Malay Karmakar were returning home when a few thiefs stopped their way. As they raised protests when they tried to snatch their belongings, the goons shot fire at them. Mithu Sarakr got injured due to the fires shot whereas Malay got injured due to shark weapons. The locals rescued and admitted them to the Malda medical college and hospital.
