First Teesta Water Distribution Activist Is Poorly Ill


Balurghat: Former MP who had raised the first voice on Teesta issue is highly ill. Former MP and RSP leader Prashanta Majumder is admitted in Balurghat District Hospital.

Former 80-year-old MP Prashanta Mazumdar was admitted to the hospital after being unconscious while sitting in the chair. Hospital physician Dr. Sukanta Manna said that when Prasanta Mazumdar became unconscious, he was admitted to the hospital.

His Blood pressure was reduced to the minimum level. An injection has been penetrated to normalize the blood pressure. He has been given special care in the medical department. Nothing can be said about the situation until 72 hours, said Dr. Sukant Manna.

MP Prasanta Majumdar was the first to protest against the distribution of Teesta water with Bangladesh. It will dry out the dream project of two Dinajpur ‘Teesta Canal’ if Bangladesh is given additional water. It will be hamper the agri-irrigation work in both Dinajpur.

Not only that, he praised Chief Minister Mamata Bandyopadhyay  publicly at the administrative meeting in Biniyadpur on January 9, 2012 faces huge rage from RSP. Due to the fact, he was not given ticket of 2014 election.
