Firing at France,no casualties

Marseille: Just before the occasion of the visit of French PM, Manuel Valls, hooded gunmen have fired on police in the French city of Marseille.

A patrol car was the target of the attack, according to reports. The shooting, which could be gang-related, happened on the Castellane estate on Monday morning.

Some 7,000 residents are in lock-down and have been ordered not to go outside. Police are trying to bring back things under control.

However, the attack has raised many questions on the security of the area. The security measures will be re laid before the PM’s visit.
